Lanni OrchardsThe Worcester Academy Dining Hall began working with Lanni Orchards through the Massachusetts Department of Agriculture’s Farm to School Program in the summer of 2008. Lanni Farm ( 294 Chase Road
Lunenburg, MA) directly supplied or delivered other state farm produce to our Dining Hall including a wide range of seasonal produce from carrots, squash, peaches, and apples to potatoes, nectarines, eggplant, turnips, and even purple basil. Local food and being able to meet and talk with the people who grow one’s food are two strong tenets of sustainable agriculture.

From their website:

A little about Lanni Orchards
Lanni Orchards was established when Pasquale Lanni, his wife Rosa, their four sons and their one daughter immigrated from Avellino, Italy and purchased the land that is now know as Lanni Orchards in 1963.

Now run by Pat Lanni and his brothers, all third-generation farmers, this 180 acre farm in central Mass. has become known not only for great fruits and veggies, but also for working to supply local schools with farm-fresh produce.”
